Boy Mom KITCHEN REFRESH
This project was one that I knew I needed to put my all into. My dear friend is a mom of four boys who deserved this renovation more than anyone I know. I knew when she put her trust into me, I had to to pull through for her and give her something she didn’t even know her space was possible of. I wanted to make sure this space was one she could call her own, and enjoy every part of it weather she was taking care of all her boys, or spending some alone time enjoying a coffee at her new counter.
Having built this home years ago, I didn’t want to take away from any of the elements that that they had put their hard earned money towards that gave the house character, as well as the spaces we were not updating (that have some truly lovely elements) all tied together. For instance, they have some gorgeous hand hewn beams separating their kitchen from living area and a stunning rustic fireplace and hearth. Because of this, I wanted to keep the space warm by using a creamy tone on their cabinets versus a stark white and using a tile on the backsplash that tied cool and warm tones together. Their current cabinets were in great shape being that they were solid wood, so we didn’t change the layout and painted them to freshen it up. Adding in some more traditional elements like the gold fixtures kept it from looking too modern with the new quartz counters we played off of.
I hope you enjoy these images we got after staging, as well as the before photos that really show how big of transformation it was.
